LC-MS/MS is short for Liquid Chromatography / Mass Spectrometer, which is a special combination of using liquid chromatography (LC) and mass spectrometry (MS) in tandem.

 

LC-MS/MS can be applied to the detection and analysis of organic compounds, especially for polar organic small and large molecules. For substances with available standards, it offers sensitive quantitative detection. Although there is no database to provide qualitative information, it can still be used to determine differences or similarities between samples.
