Jian Gong High School's first visit to semiconductor manufacturers to experience the cleanroom working environment.

0909

This year, Hsinchu Municipal Jian Gong High School has launched its first semiconductor course, taught by Principal Lin Guo-song and several teachers from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. In addition to helping high school students understand the work content of their parents working in the Hsinchu Science Park, they also took the students to visit MA-tek, the semiconductor "sacred mountain" of the nation. The students wore cleanroom suits for the first time and entered the clean working environment of semiconductors, learning about the related processes of semiconductor manufacturing, thereby sparking their interest.

Lin Guosong said that the school's first-year semiconductor elective course has a visit in the fourth week, organized jointly by Professor Zhong Caifu from the Department of Materials Science at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, MA-tek, and the school. Through the visit and exchange, students understand the important role of MA-tek as one of Taiwan's national treasures and stimulate their interest and understanding of materials science and the semiconductor industry.

Lin Guosong said that this visit was divided into two groups: material analysis and failure analysis. During the process, students felt the rigor and meticulousness of the high-tech industry. The various precious instruments and research and development tools opened the students' horizons. For the first time, they wore cleanroom suits to enter the clean environment of semiconductors. Through the company's introduction, they understood the necessity of each link in the semiconductor industry, thereby getting closer to the park and understanding the environment where their parents work.

MA-tek Chairman Hsieh Yong-Fen, R&D Center Director Chen Hung-Jen, and Manager Ko Yu-Feng also introduced the company's founding background. MA-tek was established in May 2002 and is one of the largest material analysis laboratories in the country. From its inception, it has been dedicated to providing high-precision analysis services required by the semiconductor industry, and today it is a leading enterprise in the testing and analysis field in the Asia-Pacific region.

The company has a series of advanced electronic and electrical laboratories and has established a database covering over 10 years of data, providing comprehensive analysis services for the semiconductor industry from product research and development, manufacturing to quality management. These services also enhance the accuracy and reliability of IC design and manufacturing, significantly improve product yield, and promote the overall development of the industry.

Xie Yongfen mentioned that the company uses a "learning by doing" training model, allowing employees to master necessary skills through practical operations and work cases. She hopes that the government can strengthen applied science education, providing more students aspiring to enter the semiconductor industry with opportunities for training that meets actual needs.

Lin Guosong said that during this visit, students could personally experience semiconductor technology and equipment, and also understand the application and development of materials science in the semiconductor industry, which will help with future learning.
