MA-tek Industry-Academia Cooperation Initial Exchange Meeting Successfully Held
The 113th Industry-Academia Cooperation Program's "Initial Exchange Meeting" was successfully held on September 26 (Thursday) morning at MA-tek's SOC silicon headquarters. This year's Industry-Academia Cooperation Program selection has entered its fourth year. Since 2021, MA-tek has invested NT$20 million annually to promote this program, supporting 20 innovative research projects focused on high-tech product development, manufacturing, packaging, and systems, while providing advanced analytical testing technologies to assist academia in overcoming R&D bottlenecks and accelerating industrial upgrades.
The event began with a presentation by the Director of the R&D Center, Chen Hong-ren, who provided a detailed introduction to the selection criteria and execution methods of this year's cooperation program. The main purpose of the initial exchange meeting was to promote interaction among the selected cooperating professors and to introduce them to the technical team responsible for managing their testing projects. After the meeting, a laboratory tour was arranged to allow the professors to quickly understand MA-tek's advanced equipment and technology, ensuring that the research projects can be smoothly and efficiently advanced.
The selection rate for this year's industry-academia cooperation research proposals is approximately 40%. The top three universities in terms of application numbers are National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, National Tsing Hua University, and National Cheng Kung University, with the accepted research projects mainly focusing on two categories: "emerging technologies" and "component technologies." Director Chen emphasized during the meeting that industry-academia cooperation is one of MA-tek's important strategies for the next 10 years, with the direction of technological development covering six major industry areas: artificial intelligence, silicon photonics, electric vehicles, secure chips, low-orbit satellites, and nanobiomedicine. MA-tek provides financial support through industry-academia cooperation to accelerate the research progress of innovative projects in academia, helping more outstanding teams achieve breakthrough results. MA-tek will continue to collaborate with academia to create a bright future of mutual prosperity between industry and academia!
